I do not think that I could pinpoint an exact date or moment that I was saved, but I know that around my sophomore year of high school, I began to seek to grow my faith actively and truly follow Jesus. I grew up Catholic, but not until my teacher showed me my sin, shared the gospel with me, began to disciple me, invited me to a Bible-preaching local church, and showed me why and how to live to glorify God, did I truly begin to understand and believe in Jesus’s death and resurrection. At the University of Alabama, my FCA leader discipled me and began to teach me how to study God’s Word in depth, and my desire to read and share God’s Word grew exponentially. Through that relationship and through serving and teaching in the youth group at Capstone Church in Tuscaloosa, I realized my passion for ministry work. This past year working as an intern at Harvest Church in Memphis further confirmed and grew my love and desire for vocational ministry.
